Just two hours from Johannesburg and you can be on the white sands of Mozambique, with a cold drink in your hand, and the Indian ocean lapping at your feet.

The Bearded Oyster is nestled among the sand dunes of Paindane and Gunjata Bay in the Inhambane Province of Mozambique - an area known for its friendly people and breath-taking beaches. The beach in front of The Bearded Oyster is quiet and stretches uninterrupted for kilometres in both directions.

You can reach The Bearded Oyster by 4x4 vehicle, or you can take one of the daily flights from OR Thambo International Airport, Johannesburg.

Only 20 minutes from the town of Inhambane, The Bearded Oyster is close to amenities, yet sufficiently secluded for you to feel that you have found your own corner of heaven.

A small supermarket in Paindane stocks most basic foods stuffs and there is a bustling market at Inhambane where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables daily.

The Golden Shores Resort
